The Israeli Armed Forces have reported the launch of several projectiles from Iranian territory against the State of Israel, in what is interpreted as a response to the recent Israeli bombing on Sunday of neighborhoods in southern Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
"The IDF --Israel Defense Forces-- have identified the launch of projectiles from Iran towards the territory of the State of Israel. Defense systems are activated to intercept the threat," the Army has reported in a statement.
According to the military note, the Home Front Command has activated the alert system, which has been automatically sent to the mobile phones of people located in potentially affected areas.
"The population has been asked to be responsible and act according to instructions. They save lives. You must enter the protection areas after receiving the warning and stay there until further notice," the message warns.
The statement emphasizes that it is only permitted to leave the safe areas "after receiving explicit instructions" to do so. "You must continue to act according to the instructions of the Home Front Command," the military communication concludes.
