Iran's Revolutionary Guard reported this Thursday that it has attacked the "US base origin of the attack" perpetrated hours earlier against an enclave located near the city of Bandar Abbas, opposite the Strait of Hormuz. According to a US official, an Iranian facility from which a drone was allegedly launched would be located in that area.

The Public Relations Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard detailed in a note, disseminated by the Tasnim agency, linked to this military body, that "after the attack by the US Army against a point on the outskirts of Bandar Abbas airport at dawn today, the US air base from which the attack originated was attacked with projectiles at 4:50 AM (local time)".

Tehran has justified this offensive by emphasizing that it constitutes "a serious warning so that the enemy knows that aggression will not go unpunished and that, if it is repeated," Iran's reaction "will be even more forceful," insisting that "the responsibility for the consequences falls on the aggressor."
