Iran's Revolutionary Guard reported this Tuesday that in the last day a total of 25 vessels, including several oil tankers, have crossed the Strait of Hormuz "after obtaining authorization" from its Navy, in an operation that took place "with the coordination" of the Iranian forces.
"During the last 24 hours, 25 vessels, including oil tankers, container ships, and other commercial vessels, passed through the Strait of Hormuz after obtaining authorization and in coordination and with the security of the Revolutionary Guard Navy," it stated in a statement disseminated by the Iranian news agency Tasnim.
The military body further emphasized that the "intelligent control" of this strategic corridor for global trade is exercised "with authority" and warned that it will react "forcefully" to any aggression.
The Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA), the body created by Iran to supervise maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, disseminated a map last week in which it sets the limits of its "jurisdiction" in the area, one of the biggest bottlenecks in international trade, in the context of the measures adopted by Tehran in response to the aforementioned offensive, which began by surprise on February 28.
