Iran's Revolutionary Guard reported this Friday that in the last day a total of 35 vessels, including several oil tankers, crossed the Strait of Hormuz "after obtaining permission" from its Navy, in an operation that took place "with the coordination" of the Iranian forces.
"During the last 24 hours, 35 vessels, including oil tankers, container ships, and other commercial vessels, passed through the Strait of Hormuz after obtaining permission and in coordination and with the safety of the Revolutionary Guard Navy," it stated in a statement, as reported by the Iranian public broadcaster IRIB.
"It should be noted that, despite the insecurity generated after the aggression of the American terrorist Army in the Strait of Hormuz, the Revolutionary Guard Navy created a safe maritime route for navigation and the continuity of world trade," it highlighted.
In parallel, the body established by Iran to supervise maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, the so-called Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA), released a map on Wednesday delimiting the contours of its "jurisdiction" in this area, considered one of the main bottlenecks of international trade, in the context of Iranian measures in response to the aforementioned offensive, launched by surprise on February 28.
