The Israeli Army has arrested two people this Wednesday as part of new raids carried out in several homes during an incursion in the Syrian province of Quneitra, in the south of the country, an area where in recent weeks there has been an increase in this type of operations by Israeli forces.
According to the official Syrian news agency SANA, the military actions have taken place in the town of Jubata al Jashab, in the north of that governorate, from where the contingent, made up of more than a hundred soldiers, has subsequently withdrawn to its starting positions.
This type of incursion has become common in recent months. Israel claims that these are operations aimed at "terrorists," while the Damascus government has asked the UN and the international community to "take their responsibilities" and adopt measures to put a stop to Israel.
These operations violate the Separation Agreement signed in 1974 after the Yom Kippur war, a pact that, according to Syrian authorities, was broken when Israel entered the area of the Golan Heights under UN supervision, a decision that the Israeli government presented as a preventive measure in light of the instability that Syria was experiencing at that time.
The Syrian government demands the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from its territory and emphasizes that all decisions and actions of Israel in the area are "null" and "lack legal validity" under International Law.
