The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Gideon Saar, has emphasized that starting this Friday begins "the golden era" in bilateral relations with Colombia, after a meeting held with the elected president of the Latin American country, Abelardo de la Espriella, on the eve of his inauguration.
"He is a determined and inspiring leader," Saar has stated about the upcoming Colombian head of state, whom he has described as a "friend," and whose success at the polls he has considered "great news" not only for Colombia but also for Israel.
"De la Espriella is a great friend of the Jewish people and the State of Israel," the Foreign Minister has highlighted, who this Thursday met with the future president in Barranquilla, where they reviewed the lines of cooperation between both countries for the coming years in areas such as the economy and security.
"It was a very important meeting," Saar has insisted, who this week has also traveled to Ecuador as part of a brief regional tour that culminates this Friday with his presence at the inauguration ceremony of De la Espriella.
