An Israeli soldier lost his life this Friday after a drone attack in the vicinity of the border between Israel and Lebanon, according to what the Israeli Armed Forces communicated this Saturday.
"The publication of the name of the IDF soldier --Israel Defense Forces-- whose family has already received notification has been authorized," the Israeli Army has indicated in reference to Sergeant Noam Hamburger, 23 years old.
The soldier, a native of Altit, belonged to the 9th Battalion of the 401st Brigade, deployed in northern Israel at the time of the attack, in which two other soldiers were also wounded, one in serious condition and another with minor injuries.
The two wounded soldiers were evacuated to a hospital to be treated and their families have been informed of their situation.
The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has expressed his condolences to Hamburger's relatives, who "fell near the northern border." "He fought heroically to defend our comundiades and citizens from the terrorist organization Hezbollah," he highlighted.
Hamburger has become the ninth Israeli soldier killed by attacks from Lebanese militias since the fragile ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel came into effect, and the 22nd since the beginning of the escalation in Lebanon triggered by the Israeli and American military offensive on Iran initiated on February 28.
At the same time, Lebanese sources place the number of deaths from Israeli bombings in Lebanese territory during this Saturday at ten, and report a Lebanese soldier wounded in Nabatiye. Since March 2, the Lebanese Ministry of Health counts 3,123 dead and 9,506 wounded.
