Delegations from Lebanon, Israel, and the United States met this Tuesday in Rome to hold "fruitful" talks within the framework of negotiations for a peace process that contemplates the disarmament of the Shiite party-militia Hezbollah and which, for now, has not managed to stop the attacks of the Israeli Army against the neighboring country.
A spokesperson for the Department of State confirmed to Europa Press that "the talks held in Rome between representatives of the United States, Israel, and Lebanon have been fruitful and took place in a positive atmosphere."
Likewise, the US representative indicated that "both sides are eager to continue moving forward," while specifying that the delegations will resume the meeting in the Italian capital this Wednesday.
In parallel, the Lebanese Ministry of Health updated the victim toll this Tuesday, placing the number of dead at 4,324 and the injured at 12,223 due to the bombings carried out by the Israeli Army on its territory since March 2, despite the ceasefire in effect since mid-April.
Hezbollah and Israeli forces resumed their attacks on that date, shortly after the offensive launched by Israel and the United States against Iran, in which high-ranking Iranian officials lost their lives, including the then supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
