A 20-year-old man has died and two other people have been injured by gunfire in a new attack carried out by settlers in northern West Bank. The incident has been recorded in the town of Hayya, located west of Nablus, according to details provided by Palestinian authorities.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health has identified the deceased as Omar Muhamad Tubasi and has indicated that he lost his life after receiving bullet wounds to the head during the assault on the village, according to information released by the Palestinian agency WAFA.
The Palestinian Red Crescent has also stated that it treated a person with a bullet wound to the head who was later declared dead, in line with the case described by the Ministry of Health.
The attack has also resulted in two more injuries from settler gunfire: one of them is in critical condition after being hit in the chest and the other, a 17-year-old minor, was injured in the thigh. Both have been evacuated to a hospital for treatment.
This new episode of violence against a locality in the West Bank occurs in a context of increased settler aggression and operations by Israeli forces in this Palestinian territory. According to data from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Palestine, released last week by the UN, there have already been nearly 80 fatalities and 1,850 injuries recorded in 2026.
