Authorities in the Gaza Strip, under the control of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), reported this Wednesday that the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli Army attacks against the enclave has already exceeded one thousand since the ceasefire linked to the agreement to implement the United States' proposal to end the conflict came into effect in October.
The Gazan Ministry of Health detailed in a note that since that date, 1,005 deaths and 3,157 injuries have been recorded, including eight deaths and five injuries in the last 24 hours, to which are added 784 bodies located in areas from which Israeli forces withdrew after the aforementioned agreement.
Similarly, it stressed that since the beginning of the Israeli offensive after the attacks of October 7, 2023 -- which caused some 1,200 deaths and about 250 abductees, according to the official balance -- 73,016 "martyrs" and 173,265 injured have been registered.
In parallel, the Israeli Army reported this Wednesday that last Saturday it killed two Hamas commanders, identified as Muhamad Said Ahmed Nimruti and Maauiya Suleiman Tsaqr Aidi.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the first of them is accused of participating in the "retention of numerous hostages in Hamas tunnels" in the Gaza Strip, while the second is attributed involvement in the "October 7 massacre in Israeli territory."
"Both terrorists promoted terrorist plots against IDF forces and Israeli citizens, and Aidi participated in the placement of explosive devices. The terrorists were eliminated in precision strikes after posing an immediate threat to IDF forces operating in the Gaza Strip," they added on their social networks.
