The Ministry of Health of Lebanon has communicated this Saturday that at least seven people have lost their lives, including a minor, and another 15 have been injured after an attack by the Israeli Army against the town of Saksakiyé, in the south of the country.
The bombing has impacted a block of apartments where three displaced families were sheltering. Throughout the day, Israeli forces have carried out numerous attacks on Lebanese territory, especially in the south, which have left at least 18 dead.
Among them is the death of a man in Saadiyate, north of Beirut, after the impact of a drone against the vehicle in which he was traveling. Less than an hour later, two other people died in a similar attack with another unmanned aircraft on the highway connecting the south of the capital.
Likewise, three people have died in Habboush due to an aerial bombardment, while a Syrian citizen and his 12-year-old daughter have died after a drone attacked the motorcycle on which they were traveling in Nabatiyé, according to "L'Orient-Le Jour".
In parallel, the Israeli army issued an evacuation order early this morning directed at the inhabitants of nine villages in southern Lebanon: Tair Debba, Abasiyé, Burj Rahal, Marub, Barich, Arzun, Jennata, and Ain Baal —all in the district of Tyre—, in addition to Zrariyé, in the region of Sidon.
The Arabic-speaking spokesperson for the Israeli Armed Forces, Avichai Adrai, explained in a message disseminated on social networks that "due to Hezbollah's violation of the ceasefire agreement" his troops are forced to intervene, and has asked the population to remain at least 1,000 meters away from these areas.
The latest large-scale hostilities began on March 2, when the Shiite party-militia Hezbollah launched projectiles against Israel in retaliation for the assassination of Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during the offensive undertaken on February 28 by Israel and the United States against the Asian country.
Since then, Israel has launched a new large-scale offensive and a ground invasion in Lebanon, which has left more than 2,700 dead, according to figures from Lebanese authorities, a toll that continues to rise despite the truce agreed upon on April 8.
