The Israeli Police announced this Sunday that they will send a report with the conclusions of the investigations into the October 7 attacks to the victims' families. These attacks were perpetrated by militias such as the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Islamic Jihad, which resulted in more than a thousand deaths and the capture of hostages after the incursion into Israeli territory.
"With deep commitment to the victims' families and to commemorate the heroism of the fallen police officers, tomorrow (Monday) we begin a new stage of the process, during which the investigations will be presented to the families," announced the Spokesperson's Office of the Israeli Police in a statement in which it considers this step "of utmost importance" for being able to "convey the heroism and work of their loved ones."
As explained by the police force, this decision marks a new phase in a work that has lasted a year of collection, documentation, and analysis. Last week, the "combatants who participated in the clashes" themselves already received a report with the same results "with the aim of providing them with a complete overview of the fighting," a milestone that the institution describes as "of great significance for them."
However, the investigation process remains open and "cross-cutting investigations analyzing in depth the activities of all departments and districts related to the events" still need to be completed.
"Once concluded, we will continue to implement the conclusions, strengthening the competence and operational capacity of the police, and working to reinforce coordination with other security agencies, in fulfillment of our responsibility to ensure public safety," emphasizes a note in which the Spokesperson's Office of the force promises that "the Israeli Police will continue to accompany and support the families of the fallen and will accompany them in this difficult time."
Israeli authorities have detailed that these investigations focus on the attacks of October 7, 2023, which caused, according to official data, around 1,200 deaths and nearly 250 people kidnapped.
After those attacks, the Israeli Army launched an intense offensive on the Gaza Strip that, as of this Saturday, has caused more than 73,200 deaths and 173,000 injured, including 1,100 deaths and 3,546 injured since the theoretical ceasefire agreed upon in October 2025, according to figures released by the Gazan authorities, controlled by Hamas.
