The United States Army announced this Friday a new series of bombings over Iranian territory in what is already the seventh consecutive night of attacks, thus consolidating the military escalation of recent days and rendering the agreement signed between Washington and Tehran meaningless, turned into scrap paper by the actions of both parties.
In a statement disseminated on social media, the Central Command of the U.S. Armed Forces (CENTCOM) confirmed the start of a new round of attacks against Iran and emphasized that a full week of uninterrupted operations has been completed.
"The attacks aim to continue diminishing Iranian military capabilities, following the instructions of the commander in chief," the military command stated, referring to the President of the United States, Donald Trump, who has once again hardened his rhetoric against Iran, insisting that he will continue to strike critical infrastructure until Tehran agrees to sit down to negotiate.
This new offensive occurs in a context of exchange of bombings between both countries. On Iranian soil, U.S. attacks have caused more than 40 civilian deaths, while the authorities in Tehran have responded with attacks against U.S. military facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.
BLOCKADE OF HORMUZ
At the same time, Washington has reactivated the naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz as an additional pressure tool and has emphasized that its units deployed in the area have "diverted" four commercial vessels, "deactivated" one, and "boarded" another, as part of the perimeter closure of the strategic passage.
"U.S. forces remain vigilant while strictly enforcing the naval blockade against Iran," CENTCOM indicated while reviewing the first three days since the resumption of the siege on Iranian ports and vessels.
