A man of Moroccan nationality and in an irregular administrative situation has been arrested in Ceuta after, allegedly, threatening to stab a soldier on Thursday afternoon, according to police sources cited by Europa Press.

The incident occurred when members of the Regular Group who were patrolling were alerted by a neighbor in the area that an immigrant was intimidating passersby while wielding a stick.

From that moment on, the soldiers organized a search to locate the individual, who matched the physical description provided by the citizen who raised the alarm.

Upon detecting the presence of the uniformed officers, the suspect attempted to escape towards the area of the Ceuta port, but one of the soldiers managed to intercept him after a brief chase.

At that moment, feeling cornered, the man drew a concealed knife and threatened the soldier with assault and stabbing. Given the seriousness of the situation, other members of the Regular Group immediately arrived, managing to subdue the suspect and proceed with his arrest.

After his arrest, the individual was transferred to the Police facilities, where the appropriate proceedings and actions have been initiated.
