The PP plans to ask the first vice-president of the Government, Carlos Cuerpo, this Wednesday in the Plenary Session of Congress whether he perceives a possible coup d'état against the Executive, in line with what, in the opinion of the popular party, other socialist leaders suggest in light of the judicial investigations that tarnish the PSOE. Furthermore, the party will ask the second vice-president and leader of Sumar, Yolanda Díaz, if she intends to continue supporting the coalition government in the current context.
It will be the parliamentary spokesperson for the PP, Ester Muñoz, who will take the floor to address the first vice-president and Minister of Economy and ask him to clarify if "there is a coup d'état against the Government underway." With this question, the popular group intends to find out if Carlos Cuerpo endorses the recent statements of the Minister of Digital Transformation, Óscar López, who stated that "there are judges who prevaricate"; those of the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, who maintained that in the Judiciary "there are those who want to end the Government of Spain"; or those of the PSOE spokesperson, Montse Mínguez, who referred to a "judicial calendar" to bring down the Executive before the summer.
In parallel, the deputy secretary for Autonomous and Local Coordination and Electoral Analysis of the PP, Elías Bendodo, will ask another question to the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Parliamentary Relations, Félix Bolaños, to clarify if "he believes he is fulfilling his responsibility as minister," according to the registry of parliamentary initiatives.
PP's Pressure on Yolanda Díaz and Sumar
At the same time, the PP wants to increase pressure on Sumar in order to know what their limit is for breaking with the Government after the latest corruption cases affecting the PSOE. In this regard, the deputy spokesperson for the PP, Jaime de Olano, will try this Wednesday to get the main leader of Sumar, the second vice-president of the Government and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, to specify "what it takes for them to stop supporting the Government."
Likewise, the Popular Group has submitted an urgent interpellation for debate this Wednesday in the Plenary Session, addressed to the Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, regarding "the unsustainable situation of the Government of Spain and its responsibilities therein."
For its part, Vox has also made a move. Its spokesperson in Congress, Pepa Millán, has registered a question addressed to the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts, Félix Bolaños, whom she will question: "What else are you going to do against Spaniards?".
