The spokesperson for ERC in Congress, Gabriel Rufián, and the MEP for Podemos, Irene Montero, will participate on April 9 in Barcelona in a joint event focused on reflecting on the future of the left, according to sources close to the republican leader.

According to RTVE, it is expected that at the meeting the former leader of the Comuns Xavier Domènech will also participate. The event will have as its motto “What must be done? (What needs to be done?)”.

The consulted sources specify that it will be a meeting aimed at sharing proposals and diagnoses on the current situation of the progressive space, without implying commitments or movements in terms of possible electoral alliances.

In February, Rufián already participated in Madrid in an event of similar characteristics alongside the leader of Más Madrid Emilio Delgado, in which he reflected on the advisability of the left working to avoid electoral fragmentation.
