The Secretary of State for Security, Aina Calvo, has given the starting signal this Monday for the 'I Advanced International Course on Digital Asset Tracing and Seizure', a training program promoted by the Center for Intelligence against Terrorism and Organized Crime (CITCO) in alliance with TRM Labs and Telefónica.
"Providing them with the most advanced resources to combat organized crime is a priority," Calvo has underlined during the opening of this training action aimed at some thirty top-level agents from Spain, Andorra, and Portugal, as detailed by the Ministry of the Interior in a press release.
The 'number two' of the Interior has remarked that this training proposal demonstrates the department's intention to anticipate new threats, enhance the preparation of specialists, and "consolidate an increasingly prepared public response to complex criminality".
The participants belong to operational units dedicated to combating criminal networks, terrorism, fraud, and money laundering. The teaching is carried out by experts from TRM Labs, an entity that the Ministry of the Interior defines as a benchmark in blockchain intelligence, transaction analysis, and technical support for investigations into illicit finances associated with virtual assets.
