The general secretary of the PSOE in Castilla y León and spokesperson for the Socialist Group, Carlos Martínez, has stressed that "stirring is not the same as renewing" when assessing the new structure of the regional government announced this Saturday by the president of the Junta, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, whom he holds responsible for "worsening" the Executive after the elimination of several departments.
According to statements sent to Europa Press, "he has stirred different departments, he has stirred those responsible within the different departments, he has renewed the institutional positions, the seats that have been handed over to the far-right and he has also managed to worsen the government by suppressing and making disappear the departments of Territorial Planning, Depopulation, Housing and also Equality".
In the same vein, he has insisted that "stirring is not the same as renewing" and that "renewing is not enough to improve", further emphasizing that "there is absolutely nothing that cannot be worsened" in this new Executive of Fernández Mañueco.
Martínez has lashed out at the leader of the PP in the Community for his "lazy pace" and for having "condemned" Castilla y León to "a total and absolute handover and surrender into the hands of the far-right" instead of focusing on "the real problems of the citizens".
Faced with this scenario, he has warned that the PSOE will remain "very expectant and attentive", with the aim of carrying out an "exhaustive follow-up of each of the proposals that go against the law or the Statute of Autonomy of the Community".
At the same time, he has assured that his party will promote "positive" initiatives, such as the one it will register next week to adapt the law to the State Pact against Gender Violence, a violence that, he recalled, "is real and exists", Martínez concluded.
