The First Vice President and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, maintains her plan to leave the Government the moment the Andalusian elections are called, although she will retain her seat in Congress until the new autonomous Parliament is constituted, in order not to lose the civil servant position she has reserved at the Virgen del Rocío Hospital.

In an informal chat with journalists in Congress, Montero has pointed out two possible days for the celebration of the elections in Andalusia: Sunday, May 31 or Sunday, June 21, since between both dates the visit to Spain of “Pope Leo XIV” is scheduled and he does not consider it probable that an electoral campaign and the voting day coincide with that trip.

The final decision on the date will be adopted by the president of the Junta, “Juanma Moreno Bonilla”, who holds the authority. But, as soon as the electoral calendar is official, the vice president plans to leave the Executive of “Pedro Sánchez”, either that same day or the next, to dedicate herself to the Andalusian campaign.

Even so, Montero will continue for a few weeks as a deputy in the Lower House to protect the doctor's position she has assigned at the "Virgen del Rocío" hospital, since, if she were to resign from her seat, she would be forced to immediately rejoin her post. Her idea is to leave Congress when the new Andalusian Parliament is constituted and she can occupy her new autonomous seat.
