The general secretary of the Socialist Youth of Spain, Aránzazu Figueroa, has lashed out at the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, whom she accuses of "living the good life" and going "from penthouse to penthouse" while numerous young people and families in Madrid are unable to access decent housing.
In statements to the media this Saturday, Figueroa denounced that, "While the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, goes from penthouse to penthouse, even speculating with housing when young people and families in Madrid have nowhere to go and do not have the capacity to buy or rent a home, she is living the good life."
The leader of the Socialist Youth has extended her criticisms to the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, whom she accuses of taking a new step back in terms of equality. She pointed out that the Andalusian leader "is once again selling the rights and freedoms of Andalusian women" and "Once again demonstrates that the priority of women is not, at all, the one that the Popular Party has, nor much less Vox."
Figueroa has also questioned the position of the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, whom she reproaches for placing himself "to the side" and maintaining an "absolute silence" regarding what is happening in Andalucía, despite having intervened in other communities to try to limit the agreements between the PP and Vox. In her view, this way of acting again highlights the "PP brand."
In this context, she emphasized that, "Once again, the Popular Party, against the victims of gender violence, against women, against the greatest scourge that our society suffers, which is gender violence. Once again Feijóo stands to the side," stressing that, in her opinion, the popular leadership is not responding to the demands for protection against macho violence.
