The Government has suffered two new parliamentary setbacks in the first extraordinary Plenary session held by Congress this summer, a session in which the deficit path for the General State Budgets of 2027 and the repeal of a decree-law linked to RTVE have been struck down, both initiatives rejected by the majority formed by PP, Vox, Junts, and UPN.
In the vote on the deficit path and budgetary stability objectives, a prelude to the public accounts that the Government has committed to presenting for next year, the abstentions of the four deputies from Podemos and the deputy from Compromís, affiliated with the Mixed Group, Àgueda Micó, were also recorded.
The Executive plans to try again to approve these documents in the extraordinary session scheduled for July 23, once the Council of Ministers approves them again and sends them back to the Chamber.
In addition, the Plenary session of Congress has also repealed, with the votes of PP, Vox, Junts, and UPN, the decree-law so that non-deductible taxes by RTVE are considered a cost of the public service.
