Felipe VI has maintained several telephone conversations this Friday with the presidents of Aragón, Castilla-La Mancha, and the Community of Madrid to convey the "solidarity of the Royal House" in light of the serious fires affecting these communities, according to sources from Zarzuela who have indicated to Europa Press.
During these contacts, the monarch has shown interest in the evolution of the different fires declared between Thursday and Friday and in the consequences they are having on the population and the territory.
In the region of Cinco Villas (Zaragoza), the flames have already devastated 12,600 hectares and a perimeter of 60 kilometers, and the fire is approaching the Navarrese municipality of Petillala.
In the area of La Mierla (Guadalajara), the fire has destroyed almost 4,000 hectares and has forced the evacuation of 259 neighbors from eleven different localities, who have had to leave their homes as a precaution.
For its part, the fire declared near the Madrid municipality of Lozoyuela is currently considered under control, although it is not yet deemed extinguished, after having burned 770 hectares.
