The PSOE has disseminated this Saturday on its social networks a comic that reviews some of the main measures promoted by the Government in social, educational, housing, and employment matters. Among them are the extracurricular activities program Tardes con Plan, the Minimum Vital Income (IMV), the aids to access a first home in small municipalities, and the successive increases of the Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMI).
With this publication, the socialists seek to claim what they call “useful politics” against political confrontation. “While others are entrenched in noise, bickering, and blockage, the Government continues to make useful politics. Not all decisions make the headlines, but many change the lives of millions of people,” states the PSOE.
More than 106 million for extracurricular activities
One of the highlighted measures is the new call for the ‘Tardes con Plan’ program, endowed with more than 106 million euros. The initiative is aimed at facilitating that children and adolescents can participate in educational, cultural, and sports activities outside school hours.
The objective, according to the information disseminated by the party, is that access to these activities does not depend on the income of families, thus reducing the economic differences that can condition the participation of minors in complementary programs to formal education.
The IMV exceeds 2.6 million beneficiaries
The comic also focuses on the Minimum Vital Income, one of the main social benefits created by the Executive in recent years. According to the data collected by the PSOE, the IMV already protects more than 2.6 million people.
The formation presents it as a “safety net against poverty and exclusion”, especially aimed at households with low incomes and situations of economic vulnerability.
Up to 15,000 euros to buy housing in towns
In terms of housing, the PSOE highlights the aids of up to 15,000 euros to access a first home in municipalities of less than 10,000 inhabitants. The measure seeks to facilitate the emancipation of young people and, at the same time, encourage a part of the population to settle in small towns.
The Executive thus links these aids to a dual objective: facilitate access to housing and combat depopulation, one of the main problems in numerous rural areas.
Eight increases in the Minimum Wage since 2018
The material disseminated by the socialists also recalls the evolution of the Minimum Interprofessional Wage, which has experienced eight increases since 2018 and currently stands at 1,221 euros monthly in 14 payments.
The PSOE uses this evolution to claim the government's salary policy and its impact on workers with lower incomes. Along with the IMV, housing assistance, and new programs aimed at children, the training presents these measures as part of the same strategy focused on strengthening social protection and improving the economic capacity of households.
With this comic, the party thus tries to convey its management balance in a more visual and accessible format, emphasizing concrete measures that, as it argues, may go unnoticed in the daily political debate but have a direct impact on millions of citizens.
