Vox has presented a proposal in the Congress of Deputies in which it demands more resources for the National Police in order to accelerate expulsions, an action that the party justifies by "the exponential increase in crime and its relationship with the migratory invasion".
The party led by Santiago Abascal proposes, through a Non-Law Proposition (PNL) to which Europa Press has had access, a reinforcement of material and human resources, with special attention to the Central Unit for Repatriations of the Police, so that its members "can carry out their functions in an effective, efficient and safe manner".
Vox supports this initiative with "official data" from the Government itself. "The arrival of Pedro Sánchez to the Presidency of the Government has been marked by two constants: the exponential increase in crime and the migratory invasion," states the text registered in the Lower House.
According to the figures cited by the party, between 2017 and 2025, intentional homicides and attempted murders would have increased by 76%, kidnappings by 65%, and drug trafficking-related offenses by 75%. It also emphasizes that the increase in offenses against sexual freedom (+85%) and, in particular, sexual assaults with penetration (+286%) is "especially alarming".
Overrepresentation of foreigners and reinforcement of the Repatriation Unit
Vox mentions the "overrepresentation of foreigners" in offenses against sexual freedom to insist that "it is more than evident that there is a relationship between immigration and crime".
The parliamentary group focuses its proposal on the work of the General Commissariat for Immigration and Borders, responsible for controlling the entry and exit of Spaniards and foreigners from the national territory. In this area, it cites both the Central Unit for Illegal Immigration Networks and Document Forgery (UCRIF) and the Central Unit for Repatriations.
Specifically, it calls for a reinforcement of the resources allocated to the Central Unit for Repatriations, responsible for the direction and execution of expulsions and returns, as well as the control and coordination of Immigrant Detention Centers, Temporary Assistance Centers for Foreigners, and police management related to unaccompanied foreign minors.
The party once again refers to figures from the Executive to highlight that, between 2019 and 2024, fewer than 13,000 expulsion orders for immigrants would have been carried out. "Meanwhile, only the surreptitious entries into our country amount to almost 270,000 in the same period of time," concludes the party.
