Seven out of ten citizens in Spain express their rejection of the attack by the United States and Israel against Iran and 85% state that the war against this country generates "much or quite a lot of rejection" in them, according to the barometer of the Center for Sociological Research (CIS) for the month of March.

The body chaired by the socialist sociologist José Félix Tezanos carried out the survey between March 2 and 6, amid the full intensification of the conflict with Iran, which began on February 28.

The conflict barely worries a third

The study incorporates several questions about the recent bombings by the United States and Israel over Iranian territory and finds that 64.3% of those interviewed declare themselves “very or quite concerned” about this war, compared to 17.1% who feel “somewhat concerned” and 15.4% who claim to be “little or not at all concerned”.

Likewise, the CIS measures the degree of rejection that this conflict provokes among the Spanish population, in a context in which the Government of Pedro Sánchez has recovered the historic slogan 'No to war' already used during the Iraq war.

The survey concludes that 69.2% of respondents express “much or quite a lot of rejection” towards the offensive initiated by the United States and Israel, compared to 24.5% who declare feeling “little or no rejection.”

Finally, when asked if this war situation represents a threat to international peace, 85.4% of Spaniards answer yes, while only 10% deny it.
