Mercadona shoots up its profit by 25% in 2025 and nears 42 billion in sales

Mercadona obtained in 2025 a profit of 1,729 million euros, which represents an increase of 24.9% compared to the previous year, driven by an 8% increase in its turnover, which reached 41,900 million euros.

The president of the supermarket chain, Juan Roig, announced these figures this Tuesday during the presentation of results, an exercise he has described as “historic”. The meeting took place at the company's 'Jarrods' co-innovation center, located in the Fuente del Jarro industrial estate (Valencia).

The Valencian company has strengthened its position in the sector by raising its market share by 0.6 points, to stand at 28.5% of the total.

Roig also highlighted that Mercadona's global tax contribution stands at 3,400 million euros.

Regarding employment, Mercadona incorporated 5,000 new workers in 2025, reaching a combined workforce of 115,000 people between Spain and Portugal. For 71% of its employees, with at least four years of seniority, the company maintains an average salary of 2,200 net euros per month.
