The candidate of Leonese People's Union (UPL) for the elections of Castilla y León, Alicia Gallego, has shown this Sunday her confidence in improving the results obtained in the previous elections and expanding the representation of her party in the regional Parliament.
After exercising his right to vote, Gallego has indicated that the party faces the day with positive feelings after the electoral campaign and has assured that the objective is to increase the number of representatives in the new regional Parliament.
“We are satisfied with the result of the work carried out and we hope to be able to increase our representation to between four and five procurators,” the Leonesist candidate has stated.
Reinforce the voice of Leonesism in the Cortes
Gallego has stressed that UPL aims to consolidate and strengthen the presence of Leonesism in the autonomous institutions, defending the interests of the provinces of León, Zamora and Salamanca within Castilla y León.
In that sense, he has insisted that a greater number of procurators would allow to have more capacity for influence in the decisions adopted in the Cortes, especially in matters related to economic development, territorial balance and the fight against depopulation.
The candidate has also used her appearance to encourage citizens to participate in the election day, reminding that the final result will depend on the mobilization of voters in a key event for the political future of the community.
