The candidate of Soria Ya for the presidency of the Junta de Castilla y LeónÁngel Ceña, has been this Sunday the first candidate to go to the polls on the election day held in the community. Ceña cast his vote early in the morning at his polling station and took advantage of his appearance before the media to encourage citizens to participate in the elections.

Upon leaving the polling station, the leader of the provincialist party has indicated that his expectations are to “repeat or improve previous results and once again be the most voted force in the province”, in reference to the support obtained by Soria Ya in the last regional elections.

Call to participation

Ceña has insisted on several occasions on the importance of going to vote during the election day. “We must encourage people to go vote, so that others do not decide for them,” he has stressed.

The candidate has also asked for caution in travel to polling stations due to some meteorological incidents registered in different points of the community, especially due to the presence of snow in certain areas of Castilla y León.

“Good sensations” after the campaign

In his statements, Ceña has assured that he faces the day with “good sensations” after the electoral campaign. As he explained, during the last few days he has received numerous messages of support from citizens.

Yesterday people greeted me on the street, gave me encouragement and told me that we are going for everything”, he/she has commented.

The leader of Soria Ya has also pointed out that he arrives at election day with peace of mind after the intense pace of recent weeks. “I am calm and I have been sleeping well for two days after the hustle and bustle of the campaign,” he stated.

The elections this Sunday in Castilla y León will decide the composition of the new autonomous Parliament and the formation of the next regional Government, in an event marked by the competition between the main national parties and the role of the provincial parties in the political balance of the community.
