The candidate of the PSOE for the presidency of the Junta de Castilla y León, Carlos Martínez, has exercised this Sunday his right to vote in the Fuente del Rey electoral college in Soria, on a day marked by the regional elections in the community.
Martínez faces these elections as the great bet of the socialists to dispute with the Popular Party the political hegemony in the Cortes of Castilla y León, in elections in which he debuts as a candidate for the presidency of the Junta.
“A day to be protagonists”
After casting his vote, the socialist candidate has encouraged citizens to go to the polls and actively participate in the election day.
“It is important that people vote and be protagonists of election day”, Martínez stated to the media, recognizing that it is also “a day of nerves” after weeks of intense campaign.
The socialist leader has also defended that this day is an opportunity for Castilla y León to become visible through the ballot boxes, at a moment he considers key for the political future of the community.
The objective: to change the autonomous Government
Carlos Martínez has made it clear that his aspiration in these elections is to improve the results obtained by the PSOE in the previous elections and open the door to a new political stage in the community.
“Let's see if we can give that much-needed overturn”, the socialist candidate has affirmed, in reference to the possibility of achieving a change of Government in Castilla y León after the current stage led by the Popular Party.
