The election day in Castilla y León continues with a greater mobilization than in previous elections. The second official participation update, corresponding to 2:00 p.m., places the percentage of voters at 36.73%, which represents two points more than in 2022.
In the regional elections held four years ago, participation at that same time stood at 34.73%, so the increase registered this Sunday confirms a trend of greater mobilization of the electorate in the first hours of the day.
The data consolidates the increase already observed in the first advance at 11:30, when participation also surpassed the record of the previous elections.
Soria and Palencia lead the participation
The analysis by provinces reflects notable differences in the pace of voting.
According to the data available until 14:00 hours, the provinces with the highest participation are:
- Soria: 40.40%
- Palencia: 38.32%
- Valladolid: 38.17%
- Segovia: 37.89%
- Burgos: 37.12%
Below those figures are:
- Ávila: 36.36%
- Salamanca: 35.55%
- Zamora: 35.21%
- León: 34.27%
The biggest rise compared to 2022 is registered in Soria
In comparison with the regional elections of 2022, all provinces register increases in participation.
The largest increases occur in:
- Soria: +4.25 points
- Palencia: +3.57 points
- Zamora: +2.97 points
- León: +2.27 points
- Segovia: +2.15 points
These data point to a generalized increase in voting throughout the community, especially in the provinces with smaller populations, where traditionally the electorate tends to go to the polls earlier.
More than two million electors called to vote
In these Castilla y León 2026 elections, more than two million citizens are called to vote, who must elect the 82 procurators of the autonomous Parliament, one more than in the previous legislature.
The result will determine the composition of the regional parliament and the political balance of the community for the next four years.

During election day, three official participation updates are published:
11:30 hours: first update
14:00 hours: second update
18:00 hours: third update before polling stations close
Starting at 8:00 p.m., when the polling stations close, the vote count will begin.
