Antonio G. Lamuño has been appointed new president of the Association of Independent Marketers (ACIE) for the coming year, as reported by the organization itself. He will assume the Presidency after having held the position of first vice-president in the previous legislature.
His designation, they point out from ACIE (of which companies like Energya VM, Octopus Energy or Axpo are partners), “occurs in a context marked by the volatility of energy markets and the regulatory debate around the functioning of the system”. They underline that the new president faces the position with the objective of continuing to promote a competitive energy sector, transparent and consumer-oriented.
Professional profile linked to the energy sector
Lamuño, current director of Regulation, Public Affairs and Special Projects at TotalEnergies, has more than 25 years of experience in the energy sector, is a mining engineer from the University of Oviedo and holds a PDG from IESE.
Until 2020, he developed his career in the EDP Spain Group, where he held management positions in areas such as commercialization, renewable generation, electricity and gas networks, cogeneration, and new businesses, including solar self-consumption and sustainable mobility.
Since that same year, he directs regulation, public affairs and special projects at TotalEnergies Electricity and Gas Spain, a position from which he has been linked to the regulatory and strategic evolution of the sector.
Priorities of the Presidency: stability and regulation
Regarding the challenges of the next fiscal year, Antonio G. Lamuño has pointed out that “2026 presents itself as a particularly challenging year for the energy sector. The volatility of electricity and gas prices, along with a complex geopolitical context, makes it essential to guarantee stability, foster dialogue among all market players, and adopt measures that protect consumers”.
ACIE adds that they will continue “working to promote a competitive, transparent, and balanced market, collaborating closely with the regulator and with the sector as a whole to promote policies that guarantee competition and expand the options available to customers. At the same time, we will strengthen our role as the voice of independent marketers in the strategic debates of the energy sector”.
Alongside the new president, the ACIE management team will be composed of Pablo Fernández-Aller, from Enérgya VM, as first vice president; Jorge Gostanza, from Contigo Energía, as second vice president; and Julio César Nieto, from Engie España, as third vice president.
