The Cuban National Seismological Service has reported that in the eastern region of the country, an earthquake of magnitude 6 on the Richter scale has been registered during the early hours of this Monday into Tuesday.
The telluric movement has been located 37 kilometers southeast of the municipality of Imías, in the province of Guantánamo, around 0:28 hours (5:28 hours in peninsular Spain and the Balearic Islands), with a hypocenter located 20 kilometers deep.
According to what the center itself has indicated in a message disseminated on its social networks, so far reports of perceptibility have been received from the provinces of Guantánamo, Santiago de Cuba and Holguín.
At the same time, the United States Geological Survey (USGS, for its acronym in English) has reported the possible occurrence of an aftershock with magnitude 4.7 on the Richter scale and with an epicenter located at 10 kilometers deep.
