At today’s Annual General Meeting we confirmed @santander.global’s 2026 targets, with revenues growing and lower costs in absolute terms, leading to higher profit year-on-year. We also informed our shareholders that we remain confident in our medium-term plan, including exceeding €20 billion in profit and achieving a RoTE above 20% by 2028. During the meeting, shareholders approved the capital increase related to the acquisition of Webster –which will strengthen our position in the US and allow us to achieve a RoTE of 18% by 2028– as well as a final cash dividend for 2025, bringing the total cash dividend to 24 euro cents per share, an increase of more than 14% year-on-year. We intend to more than double the cash dividend per share in 2028 compared to 2025, increasing the share of profit allocated to cash dividends to 35% from 2027 results – subject to future corporate and regulatory decisions and approvals. While the geopolitical landscape is uncertain, our scale and diversification across different countries and businesses continue to provide resilience by reducing volatility, making our results more stable and predictable through economic cycles. How do we stay relevant to our customers? This is a key question in the age of #AI and one I discussed with the @santanderuk team and Mahesh, as their new CEO, on our meeting yesterday in London. Our plan to continue to grow customers and profitably for our shareholders —adding 60 million customers over the last decade, 20 million only in the past three years— is ONE TRANSFORMATION. The principles are to simplify, align business models across the group, and build once and deploy our tech platforms globally: Gravity, Payments Hub, Openbank, and more. Mahesh reminded us that the UK team has fully embraced this strategy. Delivering in a simple, personal and fair way for all our stakeholders is what will drive sustainable and top-tier value creation, with the goal of reaching high teens by 2028. Welcome Nicola, TSB CEO, and the entire team to Santander. And thank you to Andrew, Mahesh, and everyone who joined us.

Pleased to welcome Gilson Finkelsztain as new CEO of @santanderbrasil. He brings a strong background and experience in Brazil’s financial sector —including Santander—, placing him well to lead the next phase of profitable growth at Santander Brazil. @marioroleao, who has been with us for eleven years, including five as Santander Brasil’s CEO, informed earlier this year of his decision to step down, enabling a well-planned succession expected to be completed by the end of July. Thanks to his leadership, the bank is today a more diversified, agile and strong organisation. We visited many customers together, from large companies to self-employed and entrepreneurs across the country, to learn about their businesses. @santander.global set a new standard for profitable growth yesterday as we presented the next step in our strategy at our 2026 #InvestorDay in London. Over the past 11 years, we have transformed Santander into a simpler, more effective, and stronger open global financial services platform, reaching 180 million customers across Europe and the Americas. Now, we are raising the bar and over the next three years we are targeting: ▪️+30 million customers, reaching 210 million in total ▪️Growth in revenues and a reduction in costs every year ▪️RoTE above 20% and profit above €20 billion ▪️High-teens growth in value creation (TNAV per share plus DPS) by 2028, and ▪️More than doubling our cash dividend per share by 2028. We enter this new phase confident that we have the vision, plan, culture and discipline to succeed, putting our customers at the centre of all we do. Delivery depends primarily on us. My mother and Zubin Mehta are turning 90. It was a privilege to listen to The Marriage of Figaro conducted by the maestro, together with HM Queen Sofía who, as always, has been supporting the @escuelareinasofia. As my mother blew out the candles, she said they will soon be 200, because she is convinced they will both make it to 100. I am sure that will be the case with the energy they both have.

Very much enjoyed discussing the transformative power of AI and what it means for society and for our 180 million customers at @santander.global as their behaviour changes. We value strategic partnerships and collaboration as a key element for making informed decisions and delivering the best outcomes for both private and public sector organisations.

Ayer nos dejó Paulita, toda una institución en el @santander.global. Se jubiló después de trabajar 60 años en el banco, en época de mi abuelo, de mi padre y también conmigo. Cuando se fue, le pedí que me escribiese las historias que recordaba sobre ellos. Siempre nos invitaba a un café - buenísimo - y a magdalenas, almendras o chorizo. Se resistió hasta el final a cambiar su centralita con clavijas por una más moderna. Hace pocos años se retiró a un monasterio en Teruel con David, su hermano cura. En la segunda foto, estoy con ella en mi oficina. Pésame a sus hermanos, David y Agustina. Descanse en paz.

Today, we announce that Mahesh Aditya will become CEO of @santanderuk, effective March 1st, replacing Mike Regnier. Following this appointment, Pedro Castro e Almeida will become Group Chief Risk Officer, and Isabel Guerreiro will be appointed CEO of @santanderpt. Mahesh and Isabel are proven and highly respected leaders who exemplify @santander.global’s culture, while Pedro’s understanding of the group’s businesses and disciplined approach to risk makes him the right choice to lead the group’s risk function at this point. These changes demonstrate the depth of our bench of top management team and succession planning discipline, as well as our continued focus on delivering consistently our strategy and creating long-term value. Congrats, Mahesh. And parabéns, Isabel and Pedro. Well deserved!

As the transaction announced last year with Erste Group closes, I would like to thank Michał and all our teams in @santanderbankpolska for their dedication and outstanding contribution to the group over the years. It has been a privilege to work with such a strong team. While we will miss our colleagues in Poland, I am confident that Erste is the right owner for the business as we reallocate capital towards markets with the greatest connectivity to leverage the strength of the group and support sustainable growth and increased returns. We wish you all the very best in this new chapter.

During 2025, we supported many people across our communities: from those affected by the DANA in Valencia, to more than 5 million students, entrepreneurs, businesses and universities through @santanderopenacademy 🎓, or the 17 NGOs recognised in our latest edition of Euros de Tu Nómina, joining 170 projects in total. 2025 was also about my encounter with POTUS in Davos, our strategic agreement with @verizon, the launch of @openbank across the U.S. and Mexico, the very special @escuelareinasofia of Music concert at @carnegiehall, or putting the finishing touches to our David Chipperfield renovation at Faro Santander. 📍And, as always, it was about our teams: many meetings —photo 8, June Promontorio in Santander— and moments like the migration of Gravity in @santander_es and the “First the Moon” meeting —photo 9. This is Santander at its best. And there is more to come. Very proud of what we have achieved and of how we got there. For a healthy and happy New Year to all 🎉!

Today at the Houses of Parliament in London, and together with @rigby.lucy KC MP, the City Minister, we launched The Currency of Learning, Santander’s global report on financial education. The key findings are clear: people think they know more about finance than they actually do. And because understanding the basics starts very early —between the ages of 3 and 7—, we need to place financial education much higher on our priority list and start much earlier, with 91% agreeing that schools and parents should ensure children receive it. This is a responsibility for all of us: at @santander.global, we have supported education for the last 30 years, and in 2024 alone, more than 4 million people worldwide accessed our financial education initiatives. A dream of many years came true: the @escuelareinasofia, led by Andrés Orozco-Estrada and with Renaud Capuçon as soloist, made its debut at @carnegiehall yesterday. The school’s model —100% tuition-free education of excellence where talent is the only requirement for entry— proved its success last night, only 30 years after its founding. Dvorak’s From the New World ended to a standing ovation, in the same hall of its premiere in 1893. To Her Majesty Queen Sofía, who supported since day one, to Paloma O’Shea, founder, president (and my mother), and to our team led by Julia, congratulations.
