The second woman who filed a sexual assault complaint against the former parliamentary spokesperson for Sumar Íñigo Errejón has decided not to ratify it before the investigating judge. This was communicated this Friday by the law firm “Paredes y asociados”, which exercises the legal representation of the complainant in this procedure.

The woman has opted for not reaffirming her version before the magistrate of the Court of Violence Against Women number 12 of Madrid. Her defense foresees that, by not taking “that necessary step”, the case may be shelved, although she stresses that they are trying to “be able to move forward”.

Legal sources indicated last week that the court had admitted for processing the complaint for an alleged sexual assault that would have occurred in October 2021 at the home of the former leader of Sumar.

The complaint stated that the woman began communicating with Íñigo Errejón through the social network "Instagram" in 2021, in a "frequent and continuous" manner, and that after some time they met at a party where, "in a context of pressure" and drug use, he allegedly asked her to perform oral sex on him, to which she "reluctantly" agreed, according to the document.

The account added that both left the place and went to the former deputy's home, where, always according to the complaint, he inserted his fingers into her vagina despite her express refusal. The document states that the former deputy approached her ear and whispered “if you scream it will be worse” and “if you resist it will be worse”, expressions that, in the complainant's opinion, constituted “direct and effective intimidation”.

The woman would have entered into “a state of blockage derived from the previous situation” upon arriving at the building’s entrance. There and later in the elevator, Errejón “insisted again that she perform oral sex on him, she again acceding under pressure,” states the document.

“Once inside the dwelling, after continuing physical contact, the accused expressed his intention to have sexual relations with vaginal penetration. The complainant indicated that she did not wish to have relations without a condom, to which the accused initially responded that there would be no penetration,” the complaint stated.

Nevertheless, always according to that account, “in a surprising and violent manner”, Íñigo Errejón “grabbed her by the neck, placed her on her back and vaginally penetrated her by force, without her consent” and despite her “repeatedly screaming for him to stop”.

“The penetration lasted for several minutes until the accused finally ceased,” concluded the document presented before the court.
