The candidate of the coalition Podemos-Green Alliance for the presidency of the Junta de Castilla y León, Miguel Ángel Llamas, has reported this Saturday having been the victim of an assault in the middle of the street in Valladolid, on the day of reflection prior to the regional elections that are held this Sunday.
The candidate himself has made the complaint public through his account on the social network X, where he has shared an image of the broken glass and has explained what happened. “This individual threw a glass at me while I was with my son. This is very serious. I will report it immediately. We have reached our limit,” Llamas has written.
An incident in the midst of the day of reflection
The events have taken place in the Santiago street of Valladolid, one of the usual points of political activity during the electoral campaign. In that area, the coalition keeps installed an information booth used during the last days of the campaign.

According to what the candidate has related, he went to the place accompanied by his son to pick up a coat when the incident occurred. At that moment, an individual violently hit one of the windows of the electoral booth, which ended up breaking and falling onto the interior of the structure, where both were.
Llamas has also disseminated several photographs of the shattered glass to illustrate the incident and has assured that he will file a formal complaint for what happened.

Tension in the antechamber of the elections
The episode occurs on the day of reflection prior to the regional elections of Castilla y León, a phase in which electoral legislation prohibits campaign acts and in which parties usually make a call for calm before the vote.
Although for the moment no further details have emerged about the identity of the perpetrator nor about possible arrests, the candidate has described what happened as a “very serious” incident and has warned that this type of behavior cannot have a place in a democratic process.
This Sunday's elections in Castilla y León are held in a context of strong political competition between the main parties and with the focus on the configuration of the next regional Government. In this scenario, the parties have insisted on the importance of guaranteeing a calm and incident-free election day.
