Rain, storms, wind, and rough seas will activate warnings in several autonomous communities this Thursday, on a day that will also be marked by a decrease in maximum temperatures in the eastern peninsular, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency.

Alerts for rainfall and storms will affect provinces such as Ávila and Salamanca, Toledo and Cáceres, while in Ciudad Real and Badajoz the warning will be solely for storms. On the coast, the risk shifts to the state of the sea, with warnings for rough seas in Alicante and various points in the Region of Murcia, such as the Valle del Guadalentín, Lorca, Águilas, the Campo de Cartagena, and Mazarrón. In Almería, warnings for wind will also be added.

The change will favor the formation of abundant cloudiness in the interior and the appearance of showers and thunderstorms, which could be locally intense in the Pyrenees. These precipitations could extend to Extremadura, western Castilla-La Mancha, Salamanca, and Ávila. In the Canary Islands, skies will be cloudy, with the possibility of light rains on the larger islands.

The forecast also points to the presence of mists and fog banks in the early hours in the interior of Galicia and in the southern interior of the Valencian Community, as well as the continuity of suspended dust in the southern peninsular.

Temperatures

Regarding temperatures, the highs will drop in the eastern third, more sharply in the Valencian Community and the Ebro valley, while in the rest they will tend to rise. The lows, on the other hand, will drop generally across the Peninsula. In the Canary Islands, hardly any changes are expected.

Regarding the wind, it will be generally light, with a predominance of east in the Cantabrian Sea and in the eastern half and from the south in the western half. In coastal areas it will blow with greater intensity, with the possibility of very strong gusts on the coast of Almería and in other parts of the southeast, while in the Canary Islands it will be moderate from the north.
