Vinces

Vinces is an independent strategic public affairs consultancy that has, in recent years, developed its own capabilities in technology, data analysis and applied artificial intelligence. This sustained work enables the firm to transform complex information into useful tools for better understanding the political, regulatory and social landscape.

Vinces is collaborating with Demócrata to develop technological solutions aimed at making public discourse more accessible. Among these, it promotes Poder Digital, an application that allows users to organise and compare the social media activity of public officials based on public data and objective criteria.

Furthermore, Vinces is involved in the technological development of initiatives such as the newsletter Quiero influir, providing a database updated in real time on open public participation processes and regulatory activity, which allows the information to be structured, contextualised and enriched.

This collaboration is based on a shared vision: to use technology to enhance transparency, cut through the noise and facilitate a better understanding of public debate.

The tools developed within this framework incorporate Vinces technology under the “powered by Vinces” label.

What MPs Do (Political Watch)

What MPs Do (QHLD) is a parliamentary monitoring and analysis project that began its work in 2011 by monitoring the activities of the Spanish Congress of Deputies. Behind the project is Political Watch, an independent organisation which, through the development of civic technologies, advocacy and research, fights for a fairer, more democratic and sustainable society. It is made up of a multidisciplinary group of civic hackers and social researchers united by a passion for accountability and a commitment to bridging the gap between citizens and their political representatives.

QHLD is now launching, in partnership with Demócrata, a journalistic experimentation lab from which to innovatively analyse the news hidden within parliamentary big data.

Ethosfera

Ethosfera is a centre for research, training and deliberation linked to the Autonomous University of Madrid and the Círculo de Bellas Artes. The organisation promotes systems of ethics and governance within institutions and works to combat the risks to liberal democracy in the digital environment.

Ethosfera has designed Demócrata’s governance model and heads the newspaper’s standards and ethics unit.

Ethosfera was founded out of the need to mitigate the risks of polarisation that hinder effective spaces for deliberation, as well as the risks of disinformation that undermine citizens’ right to receive accurate information.
