Spain will experience this Saturday a day marked by the presence of cold air in the upper layers of the atmosphere, a situation that will favor the formation of cumuliform clouds and the development of rains and storms in a large part of the territory.

The State Meteorological Agency forecasts the activation of yellow advisories from the early hours in Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, and Melilla, while in the afternoon instability will also move to Madrid, Extremadura, and Castilla y León.

The north will notice a clear drop in temperatures

In the Cantabrian area, low clouds will predominate, especially in northern Galicia, which will grow during the day until they leave some stormy showers, at times accompanied by hail.

Furthermore, the atmosphere will be cooler than on previous days. Cities like Bilbao will barely reach 22 degrees, Santander will stay around 17, Oviedo will be around 20, and Ourense will be one of the exceptions with values close to 28.

Storms also in Navarre, La Rioja and the Pyrenees

The instability will also reach the eastern peninsular north. Storms are expected in areas of northern Navarra, La Rioja, and in large areas of the Aragonese and Catalan Pyrenees, in addition to points in the Zaragoza and Teruel Iberian System.

Barcelona will have a relatively mild midday, with about 21 degrees, while Zaragoza will be close to 27. Logroño will be around 26 and Pamplona will not exceed 23.

Light rains in the Mediterranean and more calm in the Balearics

Half of the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia will register weak and scattered rainfall. In contrast, the Balearic Islands will enjoy a more stable day, with variable skies and the presence of high clouds.

Palma will reach 23 degrees, while Valencia and Murcia will be around 22.

Center and west of the peninsula pending the afternoon

As Saturday progresses, stormy showers will grow in Castilla y León, as well as in areas of the north of the Community of Madrid and Guadalajara.

Valladolid and León will be around 23 degrees, Segovia will have a cooler day with 19, while Madrid will reach 24. In Cuenca and Albacete, values close to 23 are expected, and Badajoz will once again stand out with highs close to 30.

Andalusia, with heavy rains in inland areas

In Andalusia, rainfall will affect the eastern coast in the morning and will tend to move and intensify towards the interior during the day.

The most exposed points will be the north of Huelva and Seville, where strong storms could be registered. Temperatures, however, will barely change: Seville will be around 28 degrees and Melilla 20.

Sunday with gradual improvement

On Sunday, a slight atmospheric stabilization will arrive, although the probability of stormy showers will still persist in the northwestern quadrant, the Pyrenees, the southeastern peninsula, and in Ceuta and Melilla.

In the Cantabrian Sea, skies will remain very cloudy, while in the rest of the country, cloudy intervals or clear skies will predominate.

Mists and fog banks may also appear in mountainous areas, the Balearic Islands, the Guadiana Valley, and the interior of Galicia.

General rise in maximums

Maximum temperatures will tend to rise generally on Sunday, in contrast to more disparate minimums: they will rise in Galicia and Catalonia, but will fall in other areas of the country.

The wind will blow weakly from the east in the Peninsula and Balearic Islands, with greater intensity in coastal areas and possible very strong gusts of east wind in the Strait. In the Canary Islands, the usual regime of weak north trade winds will continue.
