Three people have died and another four have been injured in a house fire registered this early morning in Miranda de Ebro (Burgos), according to municipal sources have confirmed.
The fire has broken out in a house located on Fuente street, in the very center of the town, behind the City Hall. After the incident, the Consistory has announced that it will decree days of official mourning for the victims.
Seven people treated by emergency services
To the scene of the fire were deployed Local Police personnel, National Police, Firefighters of Miranda de Ebro, and emergency health services.
The health operation mobilized by Sacyl included:
- Two advanced life support units
- Two basic life support ambulances
- A Primary Care medical team
Also two mobile ICUs attended from La Rioja and Álava.
In total, seven people were attended to at the scene of the fire.
Two victims died at the scene of the fire
According to what the emergency services have reported, two people died at the very place of the accident.
Five others were transferred to hospitals, although one of them subsequently died in the hospital, which brings the total to three fatalities.
Among the injured there are two minors
Among the people transported by the health services are:
- A 30-year-old woman, evacuated by mobile ICU
- An 11-year-old boy
- A 7-year-old girl
- A 58-year-old woman
- A 23-year-old woman, also transferred by mobile ICU
The minors and several of the injured were transported in basic life support ambulances.
Open investigation into the causes of the fire
The authorities have initiated an investigation to clarify the causes of the fire, which occurred during the early morning in this building in the center of Miranda de Ebro.
