The executive chairman of Indra Group, Ángel Escribano, has been honored with the IBEX 35 Executive of the Year Award, granted by Cinco Días, at an event held on the trading floor of the Madrid Stock Exchange and with the attendance of representatives from the economic and political spheres.
The award recognizes his work at the helm of the company since his arrival to the presidency of Indra in January 2025, a period in which Indra has intensified its strategic, structural, and industrial transformation, strengthening its position as a key player in the Spanish technological ecosystem and in the European defense industry.
Transformation in Indra
Since Escribano's appointment, the company has accelerated its evolution with the impetus of strategic projects and the strengthening of its industrial capabilities. This process has been accompanied by the signing of more than 140 alliances in the last year, in line with the objective of consolidating technological and industrial sovereignty both in Spain and in Europe.
The recognition also reflects the market's support for this evolution, in a context marked by the growing weight of the defense sector within the economy.
The role of defense in a strategic context
During his intervention, Escribano highlighted the moment the industry is going through: “The defense industry is at a historic turning point and Indra responds to this challenge with responsibility and vision”.
Along these lines, he defended the company's role as a provider of strategic capabilities: “It must be the company that builds technological trust for Spain and Europe.”
Recognition for collective work
The executive chairman of Indra wanted to highlight the shared nature of the award, placing the focus on the company's human team: “This recognition is not only the result of the journey traveled and the work of a lifetime, but of the effort of so many people who make this project possible every day.”
Indra reinforces its industrial positioning
Indra Group maintains its commitment to growth and the consolidation of its role in strategic sectors, with the aim of generating employment, attracting talent, and boosting innovation. The company thus seeks to strengthen a more solid, resilient, technological and industrial industry, aligned with the challenges of strategic autonomy in Europe.
