The CCOO union has wanted, in the crisis opened in Indra, to leave a clear message: support for the current management and a call for institutional responsibility. In a statement, the organization has asked to avoid decisions that could “compromise the development of a key industrial project” and has defended the management team's ability to continue consolidating the company.
The positioning comes at a moment of maximum internal tension and with the focus placed on the future of the company's president.
Warning to SEPI: avoid “conjunctural” decisions
The union has launched a direct warning to the institutions involved, especially to the State Society of Industrial Participations (SEPI). CCOO has assured that it will remain “vigilant” regarding the evolution of events and has stressed that it will act “firmly” to ensure that Indra continues to advance “in the service of the collective interest and not of conjunctural or particular interests”.
Without naming specific names, the message points to the open tensions around the control and governance of the group. Without pointing to anyone, his defense of the “current management” is interpreted as an implicit endorsement of the team that has steered the company in recent months and its president, Ángel Escribano.
“Institutional coherence”: the underlying message
The union has introduced a relevant political element in its stance. It has described as “especially worrying” that decisions and leaderships are now being questioned which, it recalls, were promoted by public bodies with full knowledge of the circumstances.
“Institutional coherence is not an option, it is an obligation,” it has stated.
A message that points directly to the responsibility of public shareholders in the current situation.
Indra, at the center of technological sovereignty
Beyond the specific conflict, CCOO has wanted to reinforce Indra's strategic role. The union has recalled that the company is key to Spain's technological sovereignty, plays a central role in defense and security, is positioned in highly demanding markets and has defended that the current management team has demonstrated, in little more than a year, capacity to strengthen the company and expand its capabilities.
