The Euribor, benchmark indicator for variable mortgages in Spain, has started the last week of March with a significant rise. This Monday, March 30, 2026, the daily rate has stood at 2.932%, which represents an increase of 0.072 points compared to last week's close.

With this, the monthly average is set at 2.551%, confirming an upward trend that worries thousands of families with mortgages linked to this index.

In the last seven days, Euribor has shown a volatile but clearly upward trend: from the 2.524% registered on March 19 to today's 2.932%. This increase adds to the constant rise of recent months: the monthly average has gone from 2.221% in February to 2.551% in March, and remains well above last summer's levels, when it was below 2.1%.

The Euribor, known as Euro Interbank Offered Rate, reflects the interest rate at which the main European banks lend money to each other. Its relevance is especially high in Spain, where most variable mortgages are calculated by adding a differential to this index. This means that each increase in the Euribor translates directly into higher monthly installments for households.
