The Government, together with the main actors of the gas and oil sectors, has confirmed "the normality in the supply of gas and oil products" to Spain, despite the current international energy crisis scenario derived from the situation in the Middle East, according to sources from the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.

The third vice-president and minister for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Sara Aagesen, and the Secretary of State for Energy, Joan Groizard, met this Tuesday with representatives of the Corporation of Strategic Petroleum Product Reserves (CORES) and of the petroleum product and gas operators -AICE, Exolum, Enagás and Sedigás- with the aim of closely monitoring the evolution of fuel supply and commercialization.

During the meeting, all parties involved launched a message of calm, highlighting the strengths of the Spanish energy system and remarking that it is a "robust and diversified" system, with a wide refining capacity and a fully integrated logistics chain, the same sources pointed out.

A few weeks ago, Aagesen had already held a meeting with the gas and oil sector to monitor the situation given the escalation of energy prices after the attack by the United States and Israel on Iran and the subsequent closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a route through which approximately one-fifth of the world's oil and gas passes.
