The Director General of Training and Qualification for Employment, Zeltia Lado, and the Director General of Industrial and Business Strategy, Margarita Ardao, have participated in Vigo in an event organized by Indra Group to present its growth and talent attraction plan in Galicia.

During the day, both responsible parties have highlighted the role of the company in the community, where it currently has more than 1,600 employees distributed in eight work centers.

Strengthening of training for employment

Within the framework of the meeting, Zeltia Lado has highlighted the Xunta's commitment to a model of flexible training adapted to the needs of the business fabric. In this regard, she has highlighted the increase in the budget allocated to the training actions for unemployed people (AFD), which will increase from 40 to 60 million euros in the 2026-2027 period.

Likewise, it has highlighted the training offer aimed at active workers and the modernization of the Public Employment Service of Galicia, with tools aimed at improving the connection between the labor supply and demand.

Microcredentials and adaptation to the labor market

Another of the axes addressed has been the implementation of a micro-credential system, regulated by an autonomous decree. This model will allow the development of short and certified training courses, aimed at covering specific needs of companies and facilitating the agile accreditation of professional competencies.

The initiative aligns with the recommendations of the European Union and seeks to improve employability and business competitiveness.

Boost to strategic sectors

For her part, Margarita Ardao has conveyed institutional support for the Indra project in Galicia and has pointed out the objective of consolidating the community as a reference hub in areas such as security, defense and the aerospace sector.

As he has indicated, this type of initiatives are framed within a collaboration ecosystem between administrations, companies and knowledge centers, with the objective of attracting investment and generating high value-added industrial activity.

Along these lines, it has highlighted the Strategic Initiative in Security, Defense and Aerospace, promoted by the Xunta, as a tool to foster business diversification and strengthen Galicia's position in the industrial sector.
