The technology consulting firm Inetum has proposed in Spain the implementation of an Employment Regulation File (ERE) that could affect up to 5% of its workforce, as part of its "transformation strategy," as the company communicated this Thursday.

The company has indicated that this proposal comes after carrying out an "exhaustive technical and capacity analysis" of the organization, whose workforce in Spain stands at around 8,500 workers.

In detail, within the different companies that make up Inetum in the Spanish market, the application of these measures is limited solely to Inetum España SA.

Specific measure focused on technical profiles

Regarding the positions that will be affected, Inetum has specified that they are technical profiles, so professionals associated with central services or support functions are excluded from this process. The company emphasizes that this is an initiative of "a specific nature that does not contemplate subsequent phases".

"Inetum's management faces this procedure under the principles of maximum social responsibility, transparency, and respect towards all people in the organization," the firm emphasized, adding that the decision does not imply the elimination of business lines, "which guarantees the maintenance of usual quality standards, with no impact on service provision to clients or on the daily activity of the staff."

From the multinational they point out that the purpose is to adjust its structure to the current conditions of the Spanish market, thus promoting this "reorganization with a vision of the future, oriented towards responding to the growing demands of its clients".

"This measure responds to the challenges of a technological sector in Spain undergoing continuous evolution and the pressure of aggressive multinational competition, factors that have turned the Spanish market into a highly competitive scenario," indicated Inetum, which adds to this scenario the transformation of the talent market, a volatile political and economic environment, and the obligation to adapt to new customer demands.

In this context, the company maintains that it seeks to "evolve its value and operational proposal with a more transversal and dynamic 'delivery' model", with which it intends to reinforce its position in the national market.
