The corporate general director and head of Operations of the socimi Merlin Properties, listed on the Ibex 35, Miguel Ollero, died this Monday at the age of 56, after almost three years of battling cancer.

The company has communicated it to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), where it expresses its "deep consternation at this tragic news, as well as for the irreparable loss that his death represents" and also conveys its condolences to family and friends.

In the note, the real estate company's governing body emphasizes that "The full board agrees that, beyond the exceptional way in which he carried out his duties as General, Financial, and Operations Director of the company, Miguel stood out for his exceptional human quality, being a person who was guided by human values, professionalism, and generosity that will always be a source of inspiration for this board."

Ollero, a graduate in Law and Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from ICADE (E-3), had a career in the real estate business since 2005 and was one of the founding partners of the SOCIMI.

Before joining Merlin, he developed his career at Arthur Andersen, FCC Construcción, Deutsche Bank M&A, and RREEF, the former alternative investment division of Deutsche Bank's asset management firm, where he worked with Merlin's current CEO, Ismael Clemente, who also served there as general manager.

Merlin has indicated that, provisionally, the executive responsibilities that Ollero performed will continue to be distributed among the same executives who have assumed them during his leave of absence.
