The Minister of Digital Transformation and Public Function, Óscar López, has confirmed that the implementation of the 35-hour workday in the General State Administration (AGE) will begin in the first half of April, after the return from Easter Week.

This has been announced this Friday, at a conference organized by elDiario.es, where it has been pointed out that several autonomous communities already apply the 35-hour workday to civil servants, while in the AGE it will begin to be applied in the first half of April, once Easter Week has passed.

The head of Public Function has insisted that this reduction in working hours will be launched within the framework of an agreement with the trade union organizations and that it will be necessary to coordinate its development with all involved ministries.

In this context, the Secretariat of Public Function is scheduled to meet this Friday with the AGE Negotiation Table to sign the agreement. UGT and CCOO have already advanced their support, while CSIF has indicated that it will support the pact if the Executive fulfills the commitment to extend the 35-hour workday to all AGE personnel.
