The Tax Agency plans to introduce in the coming weeks adjustments in several boxes of the Income Tax return to incorporate the new or recently modified regional deductions by the Valencian Community and Castilla-La Mancha, according to sources from the body have indicated to Europa Press.

As reported by the economic newspaper "Expansión", the 2025 Income Tax Campaign has begun without several regional deductions—both newly created and revised—from Castilla-La Mancha and the Valencian Community being operational in the aid program.

The reason is that these tax advantages have been validated just a few days before the official start of the Campaign —which began on April 8— and subsequent to the publication in the Official State Gazette (BOE) of the order approving the IRPF declaration models corresponding to the 2025 fiscal year, that is, to this year's Income Tax.

In the case of Castilla-La Mancha, new deductions have been launched related to the purchase of the first home and with veterinary and vaccination expenses for assistance dogs. Likewise, several deductions linked to the rental of primary residence for young people, large and single-parent families, and people with disabilities, among others, have been adjusted.

The Valencian Community, for its part, has established a new deduction for expenses aimed at the promotion and musical training, in addition to modifying the deduction for health expenses and the one related to expenses in sports associations and healthy activities.

In the Valencian Community, these tax novelties were published on April 1 and 8, while in Castilla-La Mancha they saw the light in the autonomous bulletin on March 30. The most appropriate, according to the consulted sources, would be for the autonomous communities to approve and publish their deductions before the end of the fiscal year or, failing that, prior to the order that sets the Income Tax models.

From the Tax Agency, they emphasize that no other year is recalled in which the publication of this type of deductions has been delayed so much, which makes the situation something exceptional in the context of the current Income Tax Campaign.

Given this scenario, the tax agency has not been able to immediately adapt the program, as it requires completely updating the Renta Web system. Doing so right at the start of the Campaign is complex, given the high number of taxpayers nationwide who are simultaneously accessing the platform to file their declarations.

Even so, from the Tax Agency they have conveyed to Europa Press that the system update will be carried out "as soon as possible", within the next few weeks, with the aim that taxpayers from both communities can correctly apply the regional deductions.

For newly created deductions, a specific heading will be enabled under the denomination "other deductions", where taxpayers will be able to record these recent tax advantages.

As for the deductions that have been modified by the autonomous communities, at this moment those who try to apply them will find a specific notice —"box temporarily disabled"— which indicates to them that, for now, they should not submit them until the system update is completed.

In this way, the taxpayers of Castilla-La Mancha and the Valencian Community must wait for the program to fully incorporate all deductions. If any had already filed their return without including them despite being entitled, they may request the rectification of the self-assessment through the section enabled to modify an already filed return, a procedure that is carried out quickly and easily.
