The Andalusian PSOE has culminated the list-making process for the May 17 elections with a result marked by the control of the regional leadership, adjustments in several provinces, and a last unknown open in Cádiz. The candidacies have already been submitted to the autonomous executive, which must validate them in the coming days.

The process has closed with agreements in most of the territory, although with differences in the way of fitting the guidelines of the regional leadership.

Where positions are consolidated

In Seville, the list will be headed by María Jesús Montero, accompanied by Rafael Recio, in a candidacy built with balance between internal sensibilities.

In Málaga, the agreement has been closed without hitches, with general secretary Josele Aguilar at the helm, followed by profiles from his political and municipal circle.

Jaén and Huelva also present already consolidated lists from previous days, with presence of leaders with organic weight and institutional experience.

Reorganization and renewal in several provinces

In provinces like Córdoba, Granada and Almería, the closing of lists reflects a deeper reconfiguration.

In Cordoba, a complete renewal takes place in the top positions, while in Granada and Almeria organic profiles are combined with replacements in key positions.

Furthermore, the provincial general secretaries of Granada, Almería, and Córdoba will not be on the lists for Parliament, in line with the criterion set by the regional leadership.

Winners and internal losers

The result leaves a clear distribution of positions within the party.

Gain importance the profiles linked to the regional leadership and those integrated into the autonomous campaign strategy, who occupy winnable positions in several provinces.

Provincial leaderships that aspired to head candidacies or maintain institutional positions in the Andalusian Parliament lose presence, especially in territories where renewal or internal reorganization has been opted for.

Cádiz, the open point

The main unknown remains in Cádiz, where the process has been resolved at the last moment.

The proposal includes Juan Cornejo and Rocío Arrabal in the first positions, with Fernando López Gil in a prominent position. However, the regional leadership is studying possible changes in the order of the candidates, which could alter the leadership of the list.

What this closure means

With the lists practically defined, the PSOE faces the campaign with a territorially ordered structure and with internal adjustments that reflect the strategy of the autonomous leadership.

The last step will be the formal validation of the candidacies, with Cadiz as the only point susceptible to changes before the official start of the electoral campaign.
