Around seven million voters are called to participate in the regional elections of May 17 in Andalusia, an event in which citizens will be able to choose the new representatives in the Andalusian Parliament from a total of 109 seats.

In this context, mail-in voting is consolidated as a key alternative for those who cannot attend the polls in person.

Deadlines for postal voting in Andalusia

The procedure to request a mail-in ballot is now open and can be done until May 7 at Post Offices or through their website.

Once the certificate of registration is requested, voters have until May 13 to deposit their vote at a post office.

How to request a mail-in ballot

To start the process, you need to:

  • Present a valid identification document (DNI, passport, or driver's license)
  • Fill out the official application form at Correos or download it beforehand
  • Obtain the certificate of registration in the electoral roll

This certificate is essential to be able to exercise postal voting.

Who can vote by mail

The system is open to both voters residing in Spain and citizens abroad, provided they meet the census requirements.

  • Residents in Spain who cannot attend on May 17
  • Spaniards abroad registered in the CERA (Census of Absent Residents)
  • Citizens temporarily outside the country registered in the corresponding consular registry
